My flesh says Yes...My spirit says No

I know most of you have heard about the movie Soul Surfer. Based on the inspiring true story of the shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton.

Ever since I heard about this film I knew I wanted to see it. Recently, I read some blogs and peoples views on this movie saying the story itself is good, but the clothing and attitudes aren't. The film takes place on the beach so therefore, clothing is an issue. You see bikinis, bikinis and more bikinis. For basically two hours you are looking at half naked people. I know as Christians we are called to cover ourselves and dress modestly. My question is if we Christians wonna be set apart from the world and say dress modestly would go and sit in front and watch half naked people. Then we are no different from the world we are actually encouraging dressing immodestly.
So after think and pondering on this movie whether to go see it or not... I fought against my flesh and said No! I will not go see a movie that encourages immodesty.

I would love to hear y'alls thoughts on this, comment me back and tell me.

Movie Review

On Saturday afternoon I went to go see Beastly with my friend Hannah. I had been wanting to see this movie ever since I'd seen the trailer for it on television. I was so excited as I walked into the theater with my popcorn in one hand and a Dr. Pepper in the other. The theater was pretty crowded but we were still able to find pretty good seating. I started squealing as the movie began and squeezed my friend Hannah's hand.

The movie is a modern day story of Beauty and the Beast. Its about this guy who has everything, good looks, wealth, popularity, as well as pride and a cold heart. A witch came to him giving him a second chance to be kind and stop thinking everything was all about him, but he failed. Therefore, the witch turned him into  an ugly beast. She gave him a year to find someone to love him for who he was or stay beastly forever. So he (Kyle) went on a mission to find a girl. There had been this girl at his school who was very unique and not like everyone else he had met. There was something different about her. So he went to find her and he found out that her life was in danger so he took her in. She had no idea who he was and she had never seen his face because he covered it. He finally decided to show her his face and she was no impulses or run away., he said, "It's pretty rough isn't it?" She replied, '' I've seen worse", and walked away. After that he began to get to know her and realized that she loved roses. He built her a green house and put roses in it. He also had a tutor who was blind. A year was almost up and he went to  the witch and said "I please give me more time!" and she told him she could not. "If I succeed please give my friend back his sight and the girl her family back". At that moment he realized he actually cared about someone besides himself. At the end of the movie he sucessed .

I personally loved this movie it as amazing. The only thing is that the language was kinda harsh, but the story itself was amazing and had a good lesson to it. That pride and selfishness is ugly and turns you ugly but being humble and thinking about others is beautiful.

The Eagle

On Saturday a friend and I went to see a movie. The movie we chose to see was The Eagle. I had heard about this movie and thought it looked interesting. WELL..... It was so good. I loved it, best movie. I loved the battle sequences and action. Action movies are the best in my opinion, I'm not much of a chick flic. This movie was PG-13 because of action and disturbing images. The part that I liked was there was no sexual conduct and the language was not bad at all very mild. All in all this was a wonderful movie and I loved it. :)

Day 2: Favorite Movie

My Favorite movie is Avatar, I love it I even got the soundtrack for Christmas. The music is gorgeous, James Horner is the composer. It took him a year to compose the music. My favorite song from it is "Jake's First Flight" It really sounds like your flying especailly if you close your eyes. I am a music nut, especially when it comes to classical music.

Life!

I love capturing beauty from a flower. I have to say my favorite thing to do is take pics of nature. It is absolutely splendid.  I love the way you can see the water on the plant above; seeing the vivid affect of the water. Isn't the purple flower exquisite? Purple has to be one of my favorite colors in a flower. I had a hard time believing it was a wild flower. But God did make every thing beautiful...right?

Who is dying to see this movie?!?!?! *Hand raised* ME, ME ,ME! I have been wanting to see this movie ever since I heard the name of it. The best part is it's taken in Verona, Italy. Click here to see the movie trailer. Also here is a link to a Christian website that talks about movies from a Christian standpoint.

I hope to be able to see the movie real soon. Sorry this post is small but we have a lot on our minds since the wedding is a only a little over a week away!!!!!!!

New Movie!!!!!

I know many of you have heard of the movie Avatar. Well, I recently had the privilege to see this movie. All in all the movie was pretty good. It had exciting battle scenes, yet when God's name is used in vain it affects the whole movie. The 5th commandment says,

''Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain.''

It is terrible and Christians should stand up and say we will not take part in watching these movies if God's name is abused in this manner. There might be a movie out there that you are dying to see, but if we just ignore how our Lord and Savior's name is abused, then we are being like the world. Knowing we have stood up for God in obedience is better then anything else and knowing that GOD IS GOD which means He is holy brings blessing. It says in the Bible that all earthly things will be destroyed, but God is eternal.

Warning: In the movie God's name is taken in vain and other unsuitable words are used from time to time. There is talk of smoking and a mild sexual scene is shown; kissing and stating they have mated for life.

Here is a Christian web site that talks about movies. Check it out!

Spring!

It's Spring! Yeah! I just adore Spring. The weather is great and the flowers are beautiful. :) I thought these flower pics were beautiful and just had to share them with you. Sorry I haven't posted lately. I've been so busy with life.

Has any one seen the new movie Alice In Wonderland? I went to see this movie one afternoon with my brother who was home for spring break. I enjoyed it greatly and would definitely recommend it. I have to say it had some very intense scenes and would not be the best movie for young children. There are some some parts where Alice shows her shoulders and is not very modest. Other than that the movie is very clean. No dirty language is used, which is an plus, since practically every movie has some kind of language in it. The movie is nothing like it would seem to be. It was really cool in 3-D so I would recommend seeing it in 3-D if possible.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Beauty of the earth :)

Aren't theses holly bushes just beautiful! I absolutly love holly bushes. :) The berries are always so red and magnificent. I don't like the prickly leaves. I remember one time I was pushed into a holly bush while playing soccer with some friends. Trust me it is not very pleasant. LOL :)

Wow! Saturday has just flashed by. Maybe because were went to the movies all afternoon. We saw The Princess & the Frog. It was cute. :) Charlotte enjoyed it the most. But I must say say I too enjoyed it. It might have been a "little kid" cartoon movie but it was still entertaining. :) I will confess I quit enjoy little kid movies. I hope ya'll enjoy the rest of your Saturday. :)
